It started rather simply.

I offered to walk the dog of a neighbor who was having health issues.

Before long, I was walking the dogs of more neighbors, and I began charging for the service.

Growing up I was surrounded by animals - dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, goldfish/aquarium fish, and even a couple of ponies - and that doesn’t count the variety of outdoor animal life I encountered while living on our forested hilltop in Western Massachusetts.

Besides being surrounded by animals, I have always been an active person.

I started gymnastics at age six. Thirteen years later, I graduated high school, as a Level 9 gymnast.

In basic training for the Army Reserves, I graduated as the top female in my platoon, for physical training.

My Mom will tell you that, even as a baby, I was always moving.

All this adds up to saying that I am in my glory when my feet are outside hitting the pavement (or grass!), and there is a dog at the end of the leash in my hand.
